What Geonik Means to Me

April 17, 2025

Geonik and the Hallowed Eye is my debut novel, and it's currently in the querying stage. I’m hoping to pursue traditional publication, but I’m open to self-publishing if that’s where the journey leads.

This world—these characters—mean everything to me. Over the years, the story has grown and evolved, and I’ve loved every moment of it: the discovery, the rewriting, the unraveling of secrets I didn’t know were there when I began.

Geonik began as a character I imagined for a Star Trek story—a girl born on a planet called Rizor who gets cast through a black hole and ends up on Earth. That story never got written, but I never let go of her

She stayed with me—strong, curious, determined, and yes, able to absolutely kick ass.

Two decades later, Geonik found new life in a world of my own making. A planet without a sun. A civilization living under a massive dome. A twist on vampires and werewolves. Steamy relationships, slow-burn romances, and ancient relics with divine origins. I created new gods and new mythologies, levels of divinity, prophecies, and characters who love fiercely but carry devastating secrets. Some gods hide truth out of love. Others out of fear. Not all are good.

I’ve built friendships around Geonik that will last a lifetime—and above all, I’ve tried to make them real. Real enough that when I write them, I feel what they feel. They’ve become part of me.

Originally, Geonik was meant to be a standalone novel. And it still can be. But there’s so much more to tell. Too many secrets still buried. I now see this story as a trilogy.

I’ve already begun writing book two: Geonik and the Day of Reckoning.

I love these characters. I hope they’ll capture your heart the way they’ve captured mine.
